We had an absolute blast at Out There Arts, performing Olive Branch seven times and delivering 11 workshops to schools in and around Great Yarmouth.

Across the week, we reached an incredible 1,819 children. The response was truly heartwarming; young people engaged deeply with the performance, connected with its themes, and shared how inspired they felt after watching and taking part.

At Vanhulle Dance Theatre, inspiring children and young people sits at the heart of everything we do. Through Olive Branch, we explore themes including hope, resilience, teamwork, friendship, understanding differences and working together to overcome challenges. We believe that dance has the power to spark imagination, encourage self-expression and create meaningful conversations that extend far beyond the performance itself.

Our workshops are designed to be inclusive, engaging and accessible to all participants, regardless of previous dance experience. We strive to create supportive environments where young people feel confident to take creative risks, collaborate with others and discover new ways of communicating through movement. By encouraging curiosity, creativity and teamwork, we aim to help children develop confidence, balance, body awareness and a stronger connection to themselves and those around them.

As a company, we are passionate about making high-quality dance experiences available to as many young people as possible. We believe that movement can be a powerful tool for personal growth, wellbeing and connection, helping children to build resilience while having fun along the way.

A huge thank you to Out There Arts, the schools, teachers and students who welcomed us so warmly. Seeing so many young people engage with the work, share their ideas and embrace the creative challenges of the workshops was a real reminder of why we do what we do.

Most importantly, we had fun — and judging by the smiles, laughter and enthusiasm throughout the week, so did they!
